Daily Light for February 9

Posted: February 9th, 2010, by evs_feedin

Morning

“But now he is comforted here.”

Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended.—He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth.—“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water.”—“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Luke 16:25; Isa. 60:20; Isa. 25:8; Rev. 7:14-17; Rev. 21:4 (Read full verses...)

Evening

“Night is coming, when no one can work.”

“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord . . . that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”—“There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest.”— Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?”

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.”—The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day.

So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

Daily Manna from the Net for Tuesday, February 9, 2010 [Mark 6:53-56]

When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed. Mark 6:53-56 NIV Listen

Philippians 2:10-11 (NASU) so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Daily Light for February 8

Morning

“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends.”

The LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?”—“To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven.”—These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.—Hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.

Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!—The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.—“For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.”

“You are my friends if you do what I command you.”

John 15:15; Gen. 18:17; Matt. 13:11; 1 Cor. 2:10; 1 Cor. 2:7; Ps. 65:4; Ps. 25:14; John 17:8; John 15:14 (Read full verses...)

Evening

You shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.—If indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion.

Isa. 60:18; Rev. 21:14; Eph. 2:19-22; 1 Pet. 2:3-5; Ps. 65:1 (Read full verses...)

Daily Manna from the Net for Monday, February 8, 2010 [Psalm 139:13-18]

Posted: February 8th, 2010, by ibs_feedin
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. Psalm 139:13-18 NIV Listen
